Choose 2 or more photos from the list that you like the best, and explain the IRONY in the photo as a comment to this post.
Page 1. Photo # 2.
ReplyDeleteIts irony because it says that the place is not a photo opportunity and the photo was taken there so you wouldn't expect a photo at a place that doesn't allow photos.
Page 13. Photo # 3.
Its irony because the sign says that the ladder is a safety ladder that's meant to be safe and it also says to use at your own risk and the ladder cant be safe if you have a risk.
Photo #11: It's irony because there is a sign that says don't sit on the stairs but they go and sit on it anyway. It's opposite of what they want people to do.
ReplyDeletePhoto #5: It's irony because the first ad is trying to get parents to stop drinking but then the second ad is advertising to go out and drink. It's taking the meaning anyway from either ad. They are both very opposite ads in the same place.
Page 2 Photo #1: Its irony because the restaurant is Ruddys BBQ's with a fire symbol and design and outside its cold and frezzy.

ReplyDeleteIt's ironic because the Native American doll is holding an American flag. Irony because Native Americans were here first and basically got kicked out.

It's ironic because fire hidrants are meant to put out fires. And this one is on fire.

ReplyDeleteThe first picture is ironic because the truck that is on fire says barrel o’ fun and its on fire which is not very fun.
The second is ironic because the sign says no birds while a bird is sitting on top of the sigh.
I picked the picture with the tree branch smashing a car, and its ironic because it says on the license plate that “Life’s Good” when their car just got smashed by a tree branch.
ReplyDeleteI choose the one with the with moldy lemon, because it says that its pure and healthy when its all moldy.
I chose the fire hydrant on fire. I chose this picture to represent irony because fire hydrants are supposed to help put out fires. So it is ironic that it is on fire.
ReplyDeleteI chose the car that had a tree branch fallen on it. I chose this picture to represent irony because the license plate on the car said life is good but it is ironic because the branch fell on and damaged the car and when the driver sees that he's not going to think like is good, he won't say "yay a branch fell on my car and broke the windshield this is the best day ever!" So now you see why these pictures represent irony.
Picture one on page seven shows irony because on the label it says that the lemon is “organic yalencia purity” and then the lemon was old and moldy. That is the opposite of pure.
ReplyDeletePicture one on page ten shows irony also because these two girls are making friendship bracelets and then they are fighting over it. Fighting over something that is supposed to show that two people are friends is just not what you would expect and is actually the opposite of what you would think.
Page 5. Number 2
ReplyDeleteIts Ironic Because there is a sign right next to where they are sitting and it say to not sit on the stairs but yet they still sit on the stairs.
Page 10. Number 1
It's Ironic because the dogs are tearing up Vick's jersey and Vick used to fight dogs so the dogs don't like him.
Page 11 because the player who has that jersey did a dog fight. Those dogs are pulling on the jersey and trying to tear it. Instead of the dogs fighting each other they are eating the jersey.
ReplyDeletePage 19 because when it says dead end there is a graveyard were dead people are. The sign is saying dead end in it. It is saying were the dead ends.
Page 15. Picture 2.
ReplyDeleteThis is irony because the sign in the corner says that it is a dry hill (which means no alcohol) and the advertisement is about a brewery.
Page 17. Picture 1.
This is irony because the car has the label Barrel O'Fun and its on fire... Barrels aren't fun when they're on fire.
Page 3, picture #2 of the fire hydrant on fire is weird because it should be the total opposite. Fire hydrants put out fires so its ironic to see one on fire.
ReplyDeletePage 2, picture #1 of the billboard for drinking is irony because the first billboard says how beer is bad and children are drinking but then right under it is an advertisement for drinking beer saying its smooth and everyones doing it which is very weird because the purpose was to stop drinking not promote it.
pic 4 is irony because the fire hydrant is on fire and put out fire but it can't because burning

ReplyDeleteIt says to eat a healthy meal of oatmeal but next to it it has a poster of fried bologna and other things that aren't healthy.
Page 6.Photo #2
In the picture the three guys are taking pictures and sitting down on stairs and then there is a sign on the wall and it says 'don't sit on the stairs'.
The first one is ironic because it is saying to start your way healthier by having oatmeal which is healthier for you but right next to that it is telling all these other types of foods and that they have fried bologna and those food items aren't healthy.
ReplyDeleteThe first one on the third page is ironic because it is like saying everyone needs to wake up and realize they have children to take care of and shouldn't be drinking. While on the bottom half it says that everyone is drinking it and that parties happen and its okay.
